About The Founder and Chairman, P’KA TOURISM GROUP

Okgna Somethearith Din (Ritz), born in 1974 in Phnom Penh, is a prominent Cambodian entrepreneur and leader in the hospitality sector. He founded The Frangipani Hotel in 2007, expanding it into a successful boutique hotel chain in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap. He was the first Cambodian to establish a boutique hotel in Phnom Penh. In 2018, he founded P’KA Tourism Group, comprising hotels, apartments, resorts, and real estate ventures. Okgna Somethearith was granted the honorary title of “Okgna” by Royal Decree from His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni on 22 February 2025, in recognition of his active contributions and dynamic role in Cambodia’s socio-economic development. His leadership roles include serving as President of the Cambodia Tourism Federation (2023–present), an umbrella organization for eleven tourism associations. He also serves as Vice Co-Chair of the Public-Private Tourism Working Group (2023–present), President of the Cambodia Hotel Association (2016–2019, 2021–2023), and Vice President of the ASEAN Hotel and Restaurant Association (AHRA) (2016–2023). Recently, he was elected President of the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) Alumni Association, Cambodia Chapter. Moreover, he serves as a Board Member of the Cambodian Tourism Marketing and Promotion Board (CTB), a high-profile institution. He was also the first President of Business Network International (BNI) Cambodia and Co-Founder of the Young Entrepreneurs Association, Siem Reap Chapter. Okgna Somethearith is also an honorary lecturer at the Cambodia-Japan Cooperation Center (CJCC), contributing to its entrepreneurship program since 2013, and previously taught at Norton University (2003–2011). He has been an active public speaker at many high-profile events on topics such as entrepreneurship, leadership, and self-empowerment. He also served as Country Representative of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-HABITAT) from 2007 to 2010, following seven years of prior service with the organization. Academically, he holds a Master’s degree in Urban Environmental Management from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) in Bangkok, Thailand (2001–2002), a highly regarded international institution, and a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from the Royal University of Fine Arts in Phnom Penh, Cambodia (1992–1999).
